Just received a dimmer but using it in a no neutral configuration and unsure what bypass to purchase to make it function correctly. Would be handy if they detailed to suggest one that can be purchased along side it.
Thank you for your review!
We understand that setting up a dimmer in a no-neutral configuration can be a bit confusing, especially when it comes to whether a bypass is required.
A bypass is typically required when:
The dimmer is installed without a neutral wire
The connected load (light) is low wattage (commonly LED lighting)
You experience issues such as:
Flickering lights
Lights not turning off completely
Unstable operation
The bypass helps provide a small load to stabilise the circuit and allow the dimmer to function correctly.
For your setup, the compatible option is:
Shelly Bypass for Dimmer Gen3
This is specifically designed to work with Shelly dimmers in no-neutral installations.
At the moment, the Shelly Bypass for Dimmer Gen3 is temporarily out of stock, with an estimated arrival time of 2–4 weeks.
If you’re unsure whether your setup requires a bypass, feel free to reach out to our support team and we will be glad to assist.

I bought a few of these dimmers and they all paired directly with my Hubitat hub as soon as power was applied, which was great.
I did have a need to factory reset a couple of them and this took a few attempts but this was mostly due to my lack of patience as I made attempt, after attempt. Eventually I discovered that I needed to allow 20 - 30 seconds between attempts at resetting the dimmers. Now that I do this, I ususally get the 5 x button press sequence correct.
I've also discovered that fitting a 'bypass' has made the dimming on my LED downlights smoother. I'm happy with these dimmers and they were a great price.
