Shelly Pro 3EM V2 – Professional Three-Phase Energy Meter

Monitor energy consumption and production with precision using the Shelly Pro 3EM V2. This DIN rail-mounted energy meter delivers real-time measurements across three-phase or single-phase electrical systems, making it ideal for residential, commercial, agricultural, and multi-dwelling installations.

The Shelly Pro 3EM V2 reports accumulated energy together with instantaneous voltage, current, active power, apparent power, and power factor for each phase. Measurements are stored locally in non-volatile memory for at least 45 days at one-minute intervals, allowing historical data to be retrieved even when an internet connection is unavailable.

With Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an embedded web interface, and support for MQTT, HTTP, WebSocket, scripting, and webhooks, the device integrates easily into professional energy-management and automation systems. All inbound connections support TLS.

Matter-ready: Learn how to enable Matter.

Important: The Shelly Pro 3EM V2 does not contain a built-in relay. External contactor control requires a compatible Shelly Pro 3EM Switch Add-on.

Reliable Local Data Storage

Measurement data is recorded directly on the device for at least 45 days, using one-minute intervals. Its built-in real-time clock helps preserve accurate timestamps if access to an SNTP server or the internet is interrupted.

Recorded power-quality values can be exported in CSV format, while device data can also be retrieved in JSON format through RPC.

Flexible Connectivity and Integration

  • Ethernet through an RJ45 connection
  • 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth 4.2
  • MQTT support
  • HTTP and WebSocket communication
  • TLS support for inbound connections
  • Embedded web interface
  • Custom scripting
  • Up to 20 webhooks with five URLs per hook
  • Shelly Cloud compatibility

Each connectivity option can be enabled or disabled according to the requirements of the installation. The device can operate independently on a local network or communicate with compatible cloud and building-automation services.

Ideal Applications

  • Residential energy monitoring
  • Apartments, condominiums, hotels, and other multi-dwelling properties
  • Small offices, shops, restaurants, and service stations
  • Farms, barns, silos, and other agricultural facilities
  • Government and municipal buildings
  • Universities, colleges, and educational facilities
  • Solar photovoltaic installations

Supported Load Types

  • Resistive: incandescent lighting and heating equipment
  • Capacitive: LED drivers, capacitor banks, electronic equipment, and motor-start capacitors

  • Four line inputs: three phase inputs and one neutral input
  • Four current-transformer inputs: three phase inputs and one neutral input
  • One RJ45 Ethernet port
  • Shelly proprietary serial interface for a compatible add-on

Accuracy and Measurement Notes

  • The stated active-energy measurement accuracy is 1%, based on internal design validation and testing.
  • A load of at least 500 W per channel is required for channel-to-channel calibration.
  • If the load falls below 30 VA per channel, the measured power may still be displayed, but consumed energy will not be added to the energy statistics.
  • Phase-sequence detection evaluates voltage zero crossings and reports an error if an incorrect phase order is detected while the feature is enabled.
Installation and safety: Installation must be completed by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable electrical regulations. Switch off the power before connecting or disconnecting the Ethernet cable or an add-on. The add-on interface can carry dangerous voltage while the device is powered.
