Shelly 3EM Pro – DIN Rail 3-Phase Energy Meter for Smart Home & Commercial Monitoring
The Shelly 3EM Pro is a DIN-rail mountable three-phase energy meter. Enhanced with all Gen 2 firmware flexibility and LAN connectivity, it provides professional integrators with robust options for end-customer solutions. It can operate standalone on a local LAN and/or Wi-Fi network, or through cloud home-automation services using MQTT, HTTP, or WebSocket. All inbound connections support TLS encryption.
It reports accumulated energy as well as instantaneous voltage, current, active, and apparent power per phase in real time. Data is stored in non-volatile memory for up to 60 days in 1-minute intervals. The built-in real-time clock maintains accurate time even if SNTP server connection is lost.
The device includes an embedded Web Interface for configuration, monitoring, and control.
⚠ Notice: Shelly 3EM Pro does not include a built-in relay. Contactor control is available via the Shelly Pro Addon.
Features
- 4-Quadrant measurement
- DIN-rail mounting
- Multiple connection types
- Current transformer connection

The Shelly Pro Energy Monitor has been a great addition to my smart home setup. Its ability to monitor energy consumption accurately and integrate seamlessly with platforms like Home Assistant is impressive. The device is easy to install and offers detailed insights into energy usage, which has helped me optimize my consumption. However, the setup process could be more user-friendly for beginners. Overall, it's a reliable and feature-packed energy monitor that I would recommend to anyone looking to track and manage their energy usage effectively.
The one from Amazon Germany is normally half this price and on sale like $130 and it has the Australian certificate tick. I bought it from here since I was in a rush...
Aside from that, the product is what you expect from Shelly, works nicely with Home Assistant. My case was a single phase.
Hello Mike, In this review, you have stated the product works well, yet you reviewed 1 star. Your comments regarding grey imports from Germany are unfounded. When purchasing from us, you can guarantee electrical compliance, fast shipping, local Australian support and taxes and duties have been paid.
The 3EM pro keeps on tripping the RCD. Support from Shelly says a lot of customers are reporting the same problem but they cannot find anything wrong. If many customers are reporting the same issue there must be aomething wrong with the product
Hello Francois,
Thank you for your feedback. We see that you are experiencing issues with the Shelly 3EM Pro. We have raised this concern to Shelly and we are just waiting for their reply. We will update you once we have it.
Sincerely,
OZ Smart Things
I would have thought that if it is a GEN2 model it might have more memory and be able to download 15min interval data (not 1hr). I will be forced to use API to write data to an SQL database on a more regular basis, which is a hassle. It doesn't have an output contact, which doesn't bother me too much, and it has a much faster processor that the 3EM Gen 1 model.
