Works nicely with ZHA / Home Assistant

I was pleasantly surprised how well this paired up with ZHA \ Home Assistant (ZigBee). I have only had it in place for 24 hours, but so far its working very nicely.

The device itself seems to be connecting fine, but the biggest gripe/flaw is the size of the unit itself. Its dimensions blocks of any ability to plug in neighbouring plugs! I’ve had to go out and get a separate power board to allow a complete unused spare outlet between it so that it can fit. Not ideal. The aeotec smart switch by comparison is much smaller profile and so doesn’t suffer the same problem, but it’s more expensive.

so many home automation devices promise many things, yet fall short when one wants to integrate them without need for an external cloud or invoking some developer mode. It was refreshing to use the Oz Zigbee Smart Plug V2 with home assistant and have it work out of the box, join the zigbee netowkr and become an extension to my home automation system.
