Hot water

I'm using this to control my hot water cylinder element so far it's working perfectly relay runs at about 36 degrees Celsius

Ogemray are uselesd

Regrettably, I purchased 2 of these. The written instructions are useless. I called technical support in Bulgaria. They were useless. They advised me the switches need ‘updating’ and I need to email support for instructions on how to do that. So, technical support couldn’t help and the instructions don’t work. Do not purchase these switches. They don’t work and technical support at Shelly will not help you.

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience with the two Shelly switches and the lack of useful assistance you received (from Shelly support overseas). We understand how frustrating it is when the supplied instructions do not resolve the issue and technical support cannot provide clear guidance.

Great Smart Switch - setup & use limited by poor Shelly Help Pages

The device itself, once we got it working, is very useful & should prove helpful - using it on Hot Water Cylinder, to potentially time heating to off peak times. App needed, as well as registration with Shelly cloud site. Inserted documentation limited - OK for the electrician but deficient for end user. Supposed App guide at https://shelly.link/app-guide is a single page with screenshot of app bearing NO RELATIONSHIP to appearance of my app & no links to clarify initial setup options, meaning of various icons, how timers interact with schedules etc. And its listed Troubleshooting site https://shelly.link/Ogemray25A is a waste of space - a huge page listing "Compliance" documentation in multiple languages for all of Shelly's device. Not one word of assistance for your problem. Positively, after lots of time wasting when setup failed repeatedly, leading to same end page in app suggesting possible reasons, the solution was one that they listed = needing to use home's Wifi 2.4GHz channel. I had it on, but found I needed to disable my 5GHz channel that normally runs at same time. Secondly, the App's AI, found by trying all the icons to work out what does what, proved quite helpful. It correctly identified that the reason that, despite setting manual switch, app switch, schedule & timers all into "on" I was seeing 0W power use was due either to incorrect wiring (no) or Hot Water Cylinder thermostat temp threshold had not yet triggered (due to well insulated HWC) - it finally kicked in/on after many hours.
