Bring Zigbee or Thread devices into Home Assistant with the official Connect ZBT-2 adapter. Connect it to your Home Assistant system by USB-C, choose the protocol you want to use, and follow the setup wizard to create a new network or migrate an existing one.

With an optimised external antenna and updated Silicon Labs MG24 chip, ZBT-2 is designed to provide a stable connection for your smart home devices. Its faster adapter connection also improves responsiveness compared with the previous Connect ZBT-1.

Which protocol should I choose?

Choose Zigbee to connect Zigbee devices through Home Assistant. Choose Thread if you want to connect Matter-over-Thread devices. One ZBT-2 runs one protocol at a time; to run separate Zigbee and Thread networks, you’ll need a dedicated adapter for each.

Matter-over-Wi-Fi devices do not require the ZBT-2 for their Wi-Fi connection. Compatibility and available features can vary by device.
