Zigbee Smart Light Switch User Guide
This guide explains installation preparation, Zigbee pairing, app setup and common functions for the Zigbee Smart Light Switch range, including 1 gang, 2 gang, 3 gang, 4 gang, 5 gang and 6 gang models.

Before Installation
- Arrange installation with a licensed electrical contractor.
- Confirm the connected lighting load is within the rated limits.
- Turn off mains power before opening the switch, wiring, repairing or changing DIP switch settings.
- Use the original screws or suitable cross-shaped flat-head screws.
- Do not overtighten screws, as this may deform the shell and affect operation.
- After fitting the glass panel, confirm it is fully attached to the base before turning power back on.
Wiring and Multi-Way Switching Notes
The switch terminals must be connected correctly and tightened securely. The manual includes example wiring diagrams for a 3 gang switch and a 1 gang 3-way wiring setup.
- All active connections must be on the same phase.
- Maximum 5-way switching is supported.
- Total length of S-COM and active loop: maximum 50 m.
- Control and load cables must not be coupled.
- The DIP switch must be turned on for the 2-way function.
- Single 1 gang switch installations may require a neutral wire, depending on wiring setup.
DIP Switch and Wi-Fi Requirements for Smart Life Setup
Turn off mains power before toggling the DIP switch. DIP switch settings will not activate while power is on. To activate the 2-way function, turn the DIP switch on.
For Smart Life setup, make sure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and is within good signal range of the router. The Zigbee gateway also needs to be set up in Smart Life.
Download and register the Smart Life app.
- Download the Smart Life app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Create a new Smart Life account, or log in with your existing username and password.
- Confirm Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile phone if you want the app to search automatically for nearby devices.
Add the Zigbee Gateway
The Zigbee switch requires a compatible Zigbee gateway/hub connected in Smart Life.
- Connect the Zigbee gateway to your router using the supplied cable.
- Open the Smart Life app and tap the + icon in the top right corner.
- Choose Gateway and others, then select the gateway.
- Follow the in-app prompts until the gateway setup is complete.
Add the Zigbee switch to Smart Life.
- Once the switch is safely installed and powered on, press the on/off button 5 times, then hold for 5 seconds until the LED indicator starts flashing.
- Open the Smart Life app and tap the + icon in the top right corner.
- Select Electrician, then choose Switch (Zigbee).
- Select your Zigbee gateway when prompted.
- Follow the app instructions until pairing is complete.
You can also pair from the gateway screen by selecting Smart Gateway > Add subdevice > LED already blinking, then searching for the switch.
Using the Switch in Smart Life
Once added, the Smart Life app can be used to turn the connected lights on or off. You can also choose different app themes, including Dark and Light mode. Long pressing the icon allows additional icon changes where supported.
Momentary Function and Dimming
The momentary dimming function requires the switch to be connected with the compatible smart dimmer module. Once connected:
- Open the Smart Life app settings for the switch.
- Enable the Momentary Function.
- Tap for on/off control.
- Long press for dimming control.
Compatible dimmer module references: MG-DIM02Z Zigbee version. Use the correct module for Zigbee installations.
Other App Functions
- Adjust RGB backlight colour.
- Enable child lock.
- Turn backlight on or off.
- Select Dark or Light theme.
- Create schedules.
Setting 2-Way or 4-Way Control in Smart Life
- Open the Smart Life app.
- Go to Profile.
- Select Multi-Control Association.
- Tap + Link with Switch to create the association.
Connect to Alexa or Google Assistant
- Open the Smart Life app.
- Go to Profile.
- Open Integration.
- Select Alexa or Google Assistant.
- Follow the prompts to link your account and sync the devices.

Safety Warning
- To prevent injury, this apparatus must be installed by a licensed electrical contractor.
- For indoor use only.
- Make sure the smart switch is not overloaded.
- Working power must not be higher than the rated power of 10A.
Power-On State Recommendation:
If the switch occasionally resets to the OFF state, set the Power-On State to Restore Last State in the device settings. This is the recommended configuration and helps prevent unexpected resets after power interruptions or similar events.
Warranty
This product includes a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty. The warranty covers manufacturing defects arising from correct use of the device. It is limited to defects in materials or workmanship.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by abuse, misuse, unauthorised modification, power surge damage, extreme heat or cold, corrosive environments, normal wear and tear on covers/cases/housings/connectors/accessories, or products with missing, altered or defaced serial numbers.

Hi Ozsmartthings crew,
Is it possible to reset these without cutting the power? Unsure if there’s a Zigee command or physical reset contact under the glass.
